Intro to Infant Massage
Join us for an introduction to The International Association's Infant Massage program with Jodie Beauchamp from Cheshire Birth to Three. The IAIM program itself tells us the following:
- The program is intended to allow parents/caregivers an opportunity to "connect" with their baby, to "gain an understanding of and bonding with their infant while promoting the infant's well-being and development."
- It is a program that promotes a nurturing touch that offers numerous benefits to both baby and parent/caregiver.
- This is not considered a treatment program nor a therapy for babies.
Research supports the benefits of infant massage which may include: healthy bonding/attachment between baby and adult; calming the infant's nervous system, reducing the level of the infant's stress hormones, thus promoting relaxation, improving sleep, enhancing digestion, and stimulating sensory awareness and helping organize sensory regulation.
For ages 0-12 months with caregiver. Registration is required. A limited waitlist is available in lieu of walk-ins.
