Accurate news sources are critical to maintaining a healthy democratic society, allowing for informed decision making and building public trust. Join us at the Cheshire Public Library to learn how to identify reliable news sources. This discussion will be led by retired law librarian John B. Nann.

Topics covered will include: 

  • What are the markers of reliability and legitimacy for news sources?
  • Deep fakes. What are they? How does AI change the media environment?
  • How is misinformation created and spread?
  • What are chyrons and how are they used to manipulate the news?
