Book vs. Movie: The Shining

Book vs. Movie: The Shining

A fun book club for readers and film buffs! We'll read a book and have a short discussion, then watch the film adaptation. After the credits roll, we'll compare book vs. movie. Of course, popcorn will be provided!

This month, we're embracing the winter darkness and reading the horror novel The Shining by Stephen King, published in 1977. It was adapted to screen several times, but its most famous (or perhaps infamous) adaptation was the 1980 film directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. (Rated R, runtime 143 minutes). Print copies of this month's book are available at the Info Desk on the Lower Level.

Registration required.
