The Romance of Jane Austen

The Romance of Jane Austen

Join us as Professor Rebecca Adams will discuss Jane Austen and the ideals of Romance. Lean the expectations for women during Jane Austen's life, as well as a description of Jane Austen's life and the real life characters who inspired some of her more famous characters (Mr. Darcy and Mr. Collins).  Learn about the romance in the 18th century, and how Jane Austen's novel's are really cutting edge in that regard (in that the man was supposed to save and learn from the woman---not vice versa!). including---her novel was searingly romantic enough for those days!

Don't forget to join us for For the Love of Austen events all month long!
