Event Information
Dawn and Dusk of the Colonial Baseball League
The Colonial League, a minor-league circuit operated from 1947 to 1950 in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, fielding teams locally in Waterbury, Bristol and other Connecticut cities. The Colonial was an opportunity for vets returning from the war, Latin American players, and previously banned African-American players to play organized pro baseball. Local author George Pawlush will discuss his newly published book, which blends local history, post-war baseball, labor strife, a team bus with no brakes and much fascinating detail. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Please register online or call 203-272-2245, x4.
