Cuba: More Than Rum And Revolution

Cuba: More Than Rum And Revolution

Cuba is a country that has been a mystery to many people in the United States. For decades, US tourism to Cuba has been illegal, and the importation of Cuban coffee, rum and other goodies has been banned. Why is that and should we care? Dr. Cynthia Pope, CCSU Geography Department, has been researching and traveling in Cuba for over 20 years and will argue that we should definitely care! Cuba has been tied to the US because of its location, and the two countries’ histories have been intertwined for centuries. Through photos and personal stories we will look at why Cuba is a worthy destination for travel.
