Mad Science: Kitchen Chemistry (Grades 3-6)

Mad Scientists will show students how to conduct chemistry experiments in the kitchen and make homemade ice cream! Here is a list of supplies that you will need if you would like to participate from home:

         (1 cup is needed for any of the liquid items)

  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Oil
  • 2 tbsp Baking soda
  • Long clear glass cup
  • 2 small cups for mixing
  • Spoon for mixing and measuring 
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Old penny 
  • Any clear cup 
  • ¼ cup salt
  • 8 Ice cubes 
  • 1 big Ziplock bag + 1 sandwich Ziplock bag 
  • Milk or Juice or liquid cream – 1cup
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Vanilla (optional)
  • Towel 
  • Paper towels 
  • Tray for spills 

Best for children in grades 3-6. Please register for this virtual event. You will receive a link to the Zoom meeting 1 hour prior to the program.
